GPR is a safe and extreamly fast method of

non-destructive testing for
detecting embedded elements in concrete

Structural Radar Imaging provides concrete scanning servicesStructural Radar Imaging provides concrete scanning services for construction firms and private individuals. Cutting and coring experts and other construction professionals often need a reliable way to non-destructively locate targets within concrete structures prior to drilling, cutting, or coring.

SRImaging are specialists in concrete scanning. Many people refer to concrete scanning as concrete x-ray but this is not the correct term. We use newest technology and advancements in ground penetrating radar to inspect concrete. Concrete imaging equipment utilizes ground penetrating radar (GPR) surveying to provide non-destructive evaluation of concrete structures (i.e. Bridges, Dams, PT cable buildings, pan decking, hollow cell). Common uses of concrete radar imaging are:

  • Rebar pattern identification
    and locations
  • Detecting post tension cables
  • Utility locates of pipes in and under slabs
  • Slab thickness estimates
  • Locating metallic pipes and plastic conduits
  • Detecting voids in concrete
  • Evaluating the condition of concrete
  • Structural inspections of the concrete

Our equipment gives fast, on the spot imaging for clients who need to evaluate, drill or cut concrete structures. The GPR technology, or concrete penetrating radar, has advantages over x-ray.  For example, access is required from only one side, there are no harmful rays requiring special precautions, and jobs can be scheduled without limiting access to the surrounding area.

SRI
uses the latest concrete imaging technology to literally show our clients every inch of conduit, rebar, post-tension cable, and any other type of material that may be contained
within concrete.

Concrete x-ray allows us to locate and identify the various materials within concrete, such as conduit, rebar, post-tension cable, and so on.

Before using x-ray in the Seattle area please contact us to find out how we can make your project safer. Contact SRI prior to cutting into that concrete slab to insure your safety and the projects efficiency.
