SRI uses GPR in Washington for concrete investigations, concrete scans and more

Ground penetrating radar (GPR) is a method of collecting the highest resolution subsurface data. Ground penetrating radar is a non-destructive geophysical method for testing that produces a continuous cross-sectional profile or record of subsurface features, without drilling, probing, or digging. It can be used with concrete, ground soil, freshwater, sand, and a variety of other materials. GPR equipment provides raw data which, in the hands of trained experts, can be processed to provide exceptional 2D and 3D images of these otherwise invisible underground or hidden objects. Our subsurface imaging equipment does not require access to the underside of a slab, as concrete x-ray would. Ground radar does not emit harmful radiation, so your worksite is uninterrupted. Setup and teardown of ground penetrating radar is relatively quick, so you're not paying for wasted time. Ground penetrating radar is a form of non-destructive concrete testing.

Ground penetrating radar is the best technology available for a wide variety of applications, such as GPR for concrete reinforcement and drilling, GPR for utility locating, and bridge deck retrofits. Ground penetrating radar (GPR) profiles are used for evaluating the location and depth of buried objects and to investigate the presence and continuity of natural subsurface conditions and features. Can be used for cocrete xray.
